Jinyoung and Kim Min-joo long for their Shining past

Promotions have begun for JTBC’s youthful romance Shining starring Got7’s Jinyoung (Our Unwritten Seoul) and Kim Min-joo (Undercover High School) as reunited first loves. Along with stills from their first script reading, JTBC has dropped a moody teaser highlighting the yearning between the two leads.
Yeon Tae-seo (Jinyoung) is a subway train engineer and Mo Eun-ah (Kim Min-joo) is a traditional-style guesthouse manager. They were once high school sweethearts, and the small snippets of their past capture the butterflies and hesitancy of young love. From late-night bike rides to hand-holding snow angels, the two nineteen-year-olds were each other’s worlds, but in the present, they are no longer together and have fallen out of touch.
Despite breaking up, they wonder about the other person — where they are, what they are doing, and who they are with — and wish to see each other at least one last time. Thus, when they coincidentally cross paths, they both run to not miss this chance encounter, and the longing is evident on both their faces. While the teaser switches between their past and present, they finally reunite, but unlike their teenage selves who rushed forward without a care, they keep their distance and do not jump into each other’s arms. Instead, Tae-seo says that it has been a while, and Eun-ah agrees that it has.
Also in the cast is Shin Jae-ha (The Auditors) as Eun-ah’s hotelier sunbae Bae Seong-chan, a kind and attentive person who is always by her side. Finally, filling out this love-square is Park Se-hyun (Undercover High School) as Accountant Im Ah-sol who harbors a crush on Tae-seo.
Written by Lee Sook-yeon (A Piece of Your Mind) with PD Kim Yoon-jin (Tell Me That You Love Me, Our Beloved Summer) at the helm, Shining is slated for ten episodes and premieres March 6 in the Friday slot.
