Recently, an online community post about Jay Park’s approach to promoting his idol group, LNGSHOT, sparked controversy.
Even before the group’s debut, they released self-produced content with CEO Jay Park.
The post claimed that Jay Park brought the group to his schedule, including various YouTube channels, festivals, and events.
Although LNGSHOT received various offers for performances, major events were scheduled alongside Jay Park’s.
Up until this point, fans had no complaints, as the overall response was positive, and there was a lot of content because of him.
However, the response changed after he announced his mixtape 2 with LNGSHOT, with concept photos even having him standing in the center.
As if that wasn’t enough, the group even attended music shows with him. This drew more criticism, as fans didn’t know the mixtape would delay the group’s promotions.
On top of that, news of Jay Park’s world tour this fall broke out, revealing that they would take LNGSHOT along as a guest.
Fans were frustrated, feeling it was time for the group to focus on the domestic market rather than going overseas with their agency CEO.
Through their joint promotions, Jay Park was seen across LNGSHOT’s social media platforms.
It went so far that fans had to buy albums that included duet photo cards with Jay Park. With this, fans felt they had reached a level where they had to just accept him as the fifth member of the group.
K-Netizens also responded negatively to the promotions.
