A celebrity opened up about a past relationship that ended with an unexpected financial request and an even more surprising aftermath.
On June 26, 2026 (KST), the YouTube channel Hello Han Saem Yo uploaded a new episode featuring TV star Hong Seok Cheon, who candidly reflected on his life as a single man and shared stories from his past relationships.
When asked whether he was truly single, Hong Seok Cheon answered, “I’m always dating. I am single, but dating is something I’m always doing.” He added, “As I get older, I feel like the length of my relationships gets longer.”
The production team then asked whether things become more complicated when a couple lives together and spends a long time sharing a household. Hong Seok Cheon immediately agreed, saying, “That’s right. I’ve experienced all of that.”
He first recalled his relationship with his first boyfriend, who was from the Netherlands. According to Hong Seok Cheon, the two lived together for about three years and six months before breaking up.
My first boyfriend was Dutch, and we lived together for about three years and six months. There was a reason we broke up. When he moved out, he made a list of everything he had brought with him and looked for it all.

Hong Seok Cheon then shared an even more surprising story about his second boyfriend, who was American. “My second boyfriend was also foreign. He was American,” he said.
After living together for 4 years, when we broke up, he asked me for a settlement. He asked for some kind of compensation for the four years he had spent with me.
He was someone I loved, and he was by my side during the hardest time. I gave it to him because I was grateful for that.

However, what happened afterward left an even stronger impression. Hong Seok Cheon continued, “Then he moved to Nonhyeon-dong. When he moved there, he was with a new man. And it was someone I knew!”
The unexpected detail shocked those listening, while Hong Seok Cheon reflected on how much he has experienced in his love life. “You can only imagine the experiences I’ve had throughout my love life,” he said, adding that it was his first time sharing the story on a broadcast.
