A couple formed through a popular reality dating show has now confirmed to have broken up, just months after their wedding ceremony. And it turns out they actually never registered their marriage.
On July 31st, Yeong Ja from Season 28 of I Am SOLO posted a lengthy message on her social media account, saying, “I am not a celebrity or public figure, so I have long pondered whether it is right to share personal matters like this. However, I believe it is respectful to inform those who have cared and worried about me of the current situation, so I am cautiously writing this.”
She officially announced her breakup with Yeong Cheol, stating, “I have ended the relationship with the other person.”
Yeong Ja explained, “We did not register our marriage, and during our time together, we each handled our own living and financial expenses separately, so there are no assets or financial issues to settle.”
She added, “All personal arrangements and the return of belongings due to the relationship’s end have been completed. I do not intend to share any details about the process or reasons for the breakup.”
In conclusion, she said, “Going forward, I will focus on my present and future, rather than on the past, and greet you all in a positive way. I sincerely thank everyone who has always supported and cared for me.”
Yeong Ja and Yeong Cheol met on I Am SOLO Season 28 special featuring divorced individuals last year and became a final couple, eventually developing a real romantic relationship. They held a wedding ceremony in January this year but had not registered their marriage.
Earlier, breakup rumors arose when Yeong Ja deleted photos with Yeong Cheol from her social media and unfollowed him.

The two also appeared on tvN STORY‘s Lee Ho Sun’s Counseling Room in March, where they shared realistic challenges faced after remarriage. At that time, Yeong Ja revealed she experienced pregnancy and a missed miscarriage during the wedding preparation.
Yeong Cheol also recently expressed his affection on his YouTube channel, mentioning that he gave all his I Am SOLO appearance fees to Yeong Ja and discussed the process of preparing their newlywed home.
