THE BOYZ member New (Choi Chan Hee) has reportedly ended his exclusive contract with One Hundred Label, marking a new turning point in his career.

According to a report on August 27, New and the agency recently reached a final agreement to terminate their contract. Unlike the other nine THE BOYZ members, who previously notified One Hundred Label of contract termination and entered legal proceedings, New did not participate in the lawsuit.

This led to growing speculation over whether he would remain with the company or prepare for separate activities. However, New has now reportedly decided to leave the agency as well.

According to the report, both sides agreed to end their relationship peacefully under the condition that New return the signing bonus he received when the contract was originally signed. As a result, the two sides will reportedly part ways without a separate legal battle.

New is now expected to prepare for future activities independently. The move is reportedly not simply a temporary hiatus, with discussions surrounding his next chapter already well underway.

Plans for music and other projects that highlight New’s individual strengths are reportedly being considered, including the possibility of solo music activities. Although his next agency or exact method of promotion has yet to be officially revealed, reports suggest that fans may not have to wait through a lengthy hiatus before seeing him again.

New debuted with THE BOYZ in 2017 and has served as one of the group’s main vocalists, becoming known for his distinctive clear tone and powerful high notes.

He has also expanded beyond group promotions by participating in songwriting and appearing in musicals. THE BOYZ originally left IST Entertainment together in December 2024 and transferred as a full group to One Hundred Label.

A court later granted the nine members’ injunction requesting suspension of their exclusive contracts.

They have since announced plans to continue promoting under THE BOYZ through a newly established label, while One Hundred has maintained that the injunction does not represent a final ruling on contract termination and intends to continue fighting the matter in the main lawsuit.

New had been the major question mark throughout the dispute because he pursued discussions with the company separately from the other members.
