Actress Song Ji Hyo is pausing the operation of her YouTube channel.
On September 17th, a video titled “To. Those who have loved Jihyo Ssong so far” was released on Song Ji Hyo’s YouTube channel Jihyo Ssong.
In the video, Song Ji Hyo prepared shabu-shabu herself and chatted with her subscribers. After finishing the meal, she said, “I’m going to bring a guest,” and left her seat. Shortly after, she returned and introduced herself as that day’s guest.
While continuing her meal, Song Ji Hyo cautiously revealed the channel’s future plans. She began, “I think today might be the last,” then quickly corrected herself, saying, “It’s not the last,” and announced that Jihyo Ssong would take a short break.
She asked viewers to wait until she returns stronger and more solid, emphasizing that this decision is a break for reorganization, not the end of the channel.
When the production team expressed their regrets, Song Ji Hyo comforted them, saying, “It’s not the last time, so let’s not cry.” She added, “We are taking a short break to make things more solid and perfect,” jokingly asking, “Is there an end to YouTube? Don’t we have to keep doing it until we go to heaven?” to lighten the mood.
She also honestly shared her feelings about running the channel. Although there was some regret, Song Ji Hyo said that through this experience, she realized that “just having good intentions doesn’t make everything happen.”
She expressed a desire to return to the channel with promises she can truly keep. After enough preparation and reflection, she plans to meet subscribers again with higher-quality content.
Song Ji Hyo repeatedly emphasized, “It’s not the last time.” She also left open the possibility of sharing updates or good news with fans on the channel during the break.
However, while delivering her farewell message, she seemed emotional and briefly lost her words. She concluded by saying, “This is not a complete break, but a time to reorganize,” and added, “I will come back. Until then, I hope only good things happen to you.”
Since launching her personal YouTube channel last October, Song Ji Hyo has communicated with fans by sharing her daily life and various content.
Her unpretentious style during the channel’s operation unexpectedly became a topic of interest. Some fans expressed a desire to see her with a bit more styling, rather than her casual appearance wearing hair clips during filming.
In response, Song Ji Hyo said she would reduce her use of hair clips but felt pressured by the continuous comments about not wearing them. Later, on SBS‘s Running Man, she attracted attention by showcasing an off-shoulder style, presenting a different vibe than before.
