A controversy has erupted after a famous influencer, who is about to get married, was exposed for having inappropriate relationships with 21 women. The whistleblower was his girlfriend of four years.
According to Chinese media outlets, influencer A, active on Douyin, the Chinese version of TikTok, was recently exposed by his girlfriend B for having inappropriate relationships with multiple women.
On the night of October 27th, B posted a lengthy message on her social media, claiming that during their relationship, her boyfriend had inappropriate relationships or exchanged explicit private messages with 21 women.
She revealed lists of the women involved, messenger chat records, and bank transfer histories, stating that he had secretly maintained relations with other women over a long period while hiding his dating status from her.
The couple, who started dating in 2022, had been living together in Hangzhou, Zhejiang Province. B said she not only shared daily life with her boyfriend but also took part in his internet broadcasting and video production business. She claimed to have played a manager-like role, handling video editing, filming, accompanying external schedules, and managing the production team. A reportedly currently has 3.3 million followers.
B also alleged that as recently as August 2024, she discovered her boyfriend had an inappropriate relationship with a woman living upstairs in the same building. At that time, he admitted his wrongdoing and promised not to repeat it, and they continued their relationship.
However, the situation worsened again in October. A’s parents visited Hangzhou and the families met to discuss marriage plans, but B claimed that while checking his phone, she found intimate conversations and financial transactions with six other women. Upon further investigation of past records, she found the total number of involved women reached 21.
B said she suffered from depression and anxiety symptoms and had to undergo medication treatment as a result.
As the controversy spread, A posted an apology on social media, acknowledging that he had breached trust during their relationship. However, he denied cheating with all 21 women as claimed by his girlfriend, explaining that he had only chatted online with some women and had never actually met them.
He pledged to compensate financially, offering about ₩100 million KRW (about $75,000 USD). Separately, he proposed covering B’s rent for a year, about ₩70.0 million KRW (about $52,500 USD), for her current residence. Additionally, he promised to provide a monthly living allowance of about ₩5.00 million KRW (about $3,750 USD) for at least six months.
However, A’s mentioning of B’s excessive past spending on luxury goods and other remarks showing lingering resentment suggest that the conflict between the two is unlikely to subside soon.
