Former BIGBANG member and singer-actor T.O.P has expressed a belated apology for the closure of a fan page that supported him for 20 years, sparking a uproar from netizens.
Previously, in early October, the administrators who ran the fan page CHOIDOT for 20 years announced the page’s closure. At that time, they criticized the agency’s lack of communication, shifting of responsibilities, and attitude that took fans’ dedication for granted, leading ultimately to the decision to discontinue the fan page.
Then, on November 1st, T.O.P posted a lengthy message on his personal social media account regarding the matter.

Netizens responded with comments like, “You should treat people well while you have them,” “They must have been such great fans to be so regretted. Even between parents and children, love isn’t unconditional. Everyone should treat their fans well,” “The apology timing is so disappointing,” “I just think it’s way too late,” and “Is it only because they’re gone that he realized their value?”
However, some comments offered a different view, “That fan group received a lot of criticism even when they left. It seems T.O.P’s apology helped prevent further harm,” “Though late, I think the apology was necessary. He apologized well,” “I hope the fans who saw the apology feel somewhat better,” and “It will surely reach the fans who worked hard.”
