“It’s Scary” — Multiple Celebrities Face Shocking Invasion Of Privacy Issues After Revealing Their Homes

Increasingly, celebrities who reveal their homes on broadcasts are suffering from invasions of privacy.

On October 28th, Kim Min appeared on MBC’s Radio Star and shared experiences he had after appearing on I Live Alone.

On the broadcast, Jang Do Yeon told Kim Min, “You really caused a stir from the start by appearing on I Live Alone,” referring to the buzz around his lifestyle shown on the broadcast.

Previously, Kim Min attracted viewers’ attention on I Live Alone by revealing his lifestyle in harmony with nature and his distinctive living space.

After the broadcast, Kim Min was flooded with contacts from people around him. He expressed affection for his home, saying, “That place is a good space for me,” but also shared that his fame brought some unwelcome situations.

Kim Min revealed, “These days, people come to that house too often,” adding, “Cars just enter the yard and leave.” Not only did strangers visit to see the house shown on TV, but vehicles even drove into the yard.

He lamented, “I was concerned about security, but they all know,” indicating difficulties in protecting his privacy after his living space was exposed.

Kim Min is not the only star to express discomfort over revealing their home. Singer Lee Hyori also suffered long-term difficulties with privacy invasion after showing her home in the past.

After marrying singer Lee Sang Soon in 2013, Lee Hyori settled in Jeju. Subsequently, through JTBC‘s Hyori’s Homestay, the couple’s home and daily life were revealed and warmly received. However, as the show gained popularity, some visitors came to the house, ringing the doorbell or trespassing over the walls.

Lee Hyori repeatedly requested through her social media accounts that people refrain from visiting, but the invasion of privacy did not easily cease.

Eventually, after living in Jeju for about 11 years, she moved to Pyeongchang-dong, Seoul in 2023. The everyday life she shared with viewers via broadcasts ironically became a threat to her actual living space.

Model and broadcaster Han Hye Jin experienced a similar situation. In January last year, she appeared on the YouTube channel Zzan Bro, revealing incidents involving unauthorized visitors at her holiday home in Hongcheon, Gangwon Province.

Han Hye Jin explained that a middle-aged couple was drinking tea and taking photos near the fire pit in the front yard of her villa. People even parked without permission, invading her private space and causing discomfort.

She also pleaded via social media, “Please don’t come. There is CCTV that records even license plates. I’m asking. It’s scary.” To protect her privacy, she eventually installed gates and fences at the villa and set up CCTV through a security company.
