He would not trade his time with his fans for anything.

Recently, &TEAM Harua’s magazine interview garnered much backlash online for his personal thoughts on promoting in Korea.

Due to the continuous criticism, he posted a lengthy apology letter to fans.

“I’m writing this letter because my heart is heavy after seeing LUNÉ being hurt by my recent interview. First, I’d like to apologize to LUNÉ, who has always believed in me and supported me, for any hurt caused by my words.

Becoming a singer loved by many fans has always been a dream of mine since my trainee days. So, when I heard that I would be making my Korean debut after three years, I felt more responsibility and pressure than joy. I wondered if I was ready for this new stage, and I had to show my growth to the fans who waited for me.

I sincerely apologize that I wasn’t able to fully express my complex inner thoughts in the interview, and that I may have made LUNÉ feel like I was taking my Korean activities lightly or treating them as mere works in progress.

The time I spent with LUNÉ was the most precious and happiest moment, and is something that cannot be replaced. I realize how much my words impact LUNÉ. From now on, I will be a Harua who thinks and expresses more carefully. I love you so much, LUNÉ.”

    — Harua

However, many K-Netizens remained disappointed by his actions.

    • “I can totally tell that he didn’t write it, but someone wrote it for him instead.”
    • “I thought HYBE would just ignore all this.”
    • “I hope he promotes in Japan like he wants…”
    • “If he was going to be treated like this, might as well just stan a true Japanese team.”
    • “People are starting to defend him after he made an apology. This is a problem with K-fans, continuing to stan someone who showed his true side as a Japanese.”
    • “Don’t do things that need an apology!”
    • “This was written by AI LOL.”
