Korea is filled with pain for her.

4MINUTE‘s former Heo Gayoon spoke about her struggles and why she chose to leave Korea. The star is currently residing in Bali, and has been for the past three years. She recently returned to guest on an episode of You Quiz on the Block.
The reason she moved to Bali was heartbreaking. Korea held too much pain for her. She admitted to being bullied, being caught up in eating disorders, and the passing of her older brother.
“I once got caught up in something like school violence, and I chose to just take it. I couldn’t tell anyone that I had bulimia, and I kept eating until my stomach hurt so badly that I had to stop. Then my older brother suddenly passed away, and my parents said things like, ‘If it weren’t for you, we’d want to follow him too.’”
Meanwhile, Heo Gayoon debuted in 2009 as the main vocalist of the group 4MINUTE, which officially disbanded in 2016.
Later, in 2024, Heo Gayoon drew attention after revealing her life in Bali through the YouTube channel Hachaseoneon. She shared that she had even sold her home in Seongsu-dong, Seoul, as well as her car in order to move to Bali.
